REACH UP AND LEARN

The Gore Family Foundation has implemented the Reach Up And Learn Programme in our basic schools which allows our Special Education Teachers to train others on how to provide a stimulating learning environment for children which improves quality interactions, facilitates learning, and builds skills in children which ultimately promote child development.  The Gore Family Foundation’s Special Education Teachers coach mothers & fathers on how to talk to, play with and sing to their children, and also how to do puzzles with, and read to, their children. These techniques help to improve the children’s vocabulary and generally stimulate them in the easiest, happiest way. The Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation partnered with the Gore Family Foundation on this project, donating $15,000 Canadian to help fund the Programme.
