Gore Family Foundation Secures Basic School

VOUCH Sylvia Foote, one of the Gore Family Foundation’s (GFF) basic schools under its wing, is the latest recipient of the GFF’s concerted effort to upgrade the necessary infrastructure and give the school a ‘lift’.

The GFF team was keen to get repairs going on the many “lapses” and gaping holes in the perimeter fence, which posed a security problem for the school and for the children. The task was undertaken and completed during the summer holidays so that the children returned from the holidays to see their school perked up, properly enclosed and sealed off!

As much as the GFF was keen to secure the school’s premises, Sylvia Foote Basic School was due such a reward. Our volunteer assigned to Sylvia Foote Basic visited and met with the Director and Principal on several occasions to ascertain what items were still outstanding with regard to meeting the ECC’s requirements. At each subsequent visit our volunteer was pleased to note that eventually, nearly all of the ECC’s recommendations from the 2015 inspection, could be “ticked” off the list.

Sylvia Foote Basic now boasts a new, neat, tidy, sturdy fence; much needed, firmly in place and well deserved; just part of the much wider programme (Play & Stay tennis, nutrition and academics) that the Foundation endeavours to implement at all of our basic schools.

Finally! Much needed repairs completed, Sylvia Foote Basic School's fence back in place! New fence at Sylvia Foote Basic School, neat, tidy and most importantly, secure!
