Providence Certification Ceremony Sunday July 16, 2017 at Providence Methodist Church

6Gore Family Foundation’s Natalee Robertson was delighted to attend at Providence Methodist Basic School on Old Hope Road, Sunday July 16. The occasion was the school’s ceremony on being official certified by the Early Childhood Commission (ECC).

Miss Robertson, on behalf of the Foundation’s Director, Christine Gore, accepted a plaque from the school’s Principal, Mrs. Cathryn Smith-Gayle. The award represents a mark of appreciation for all the Foundation’s support, help and efforts (from 2012-2016) for Providence Methodist’s over 150 young students.

The ECC plays an important role in our basic schools and the Foundation works in close partnership with the organisation. Our aim is to ensure the basic schools under our wing strive towards and maintain, compliance with the ECC’s 12 standards in place.

GFF is delighted to know that Providence Methodist not only “passed muster” and is on the right track, but well on its way to becoming a successful early childhood institute as it sure is; with their students graduating ready and able to enter Grade 1 Primary with confidence. The Foundation’s mission is just that for all our basic schools – each child must be ready both academically and socially for the next level, Grade I Primary; let no child graduate from basic school already behind and ‘lost in the system’!

Congratulations and well done to the Providence Methodist Basic School team on being the first of the GFF’s basic schools to receive official certification by the ECC.
